Events: Lifestyle Asia's 25th!

Last night, I attended the 25th anniversary party and book launch of Lifestyle Asia, Philippines' premier lifestyle and society magazine. Red, Shangri- la was packed with so many guests that it was difficult to move around. Luckily, I managed to find a few of the brilliant people from the editorial team to congratulate: Anna Sobrepeña, Cheryl Tiu, Suki Salvador *boo I had no photo of you :(*, along with Sari Yap. Moet flowed like there was no tomorrow, but this baghag had to stay away from the bubbly and all things alcoholic because I'm a party pooper on heavy medication with my allergies + asthma ;( Doctor's orders!  But hah, that did not stop me from having a good time! It was made all the more fun because the Tod's team from Hong Kong was also in town for the label's presentation of the SS 2012 collection (I'm telling you, in that collection are THE bags to save up for) that afternoon and we all ended up having dinner together. Bottom line: it was a memorable evening and I had a blast!! :) And to Lifestyle Asia, THANK YOU! I am so honored to be included in the book. Plus I'm quite sure my grandkids will have a blast laughing at my photo one day because of my hair *among other things*  :) LOL

Bag Review: Wynn Wynn Ong's Floral Clasp Minaudiere

Last week, I attended a trunk show sponsored by Philippine Tatler for designer Wynn Wynn Ong. Out of all the minaudieres and jewellery I saw, this bag was the one that left a lasting impression on me.

It is made out of resin, is very light, and can pack the basic essentials for a night out with girl friends, a cocktail party, or that special romantic date. I am loving the hammered vermeil petals on the oversized flower clasp. It's really unique, and is easily a conversation piece.

This is the minaudiere for the girl who loves jewellery and loves bag. It's a winner. Congratulations to Wynn Wynn Ong for that successful trunk show and rebranding cocktail party!

Bag Review: Philip Lim Pashli

Everyone I know these days has been hankering for a Celine Luggage Tote. The demand for this style has become so much stronger in recent months, presumably also because it has become more difficult to get-- you know what it's like, not having what you want makes you want it even more :)

I'm personally not a big fan of the Celine phantom because it opens up too wide, but give me a fluo- colored luggage tote and I'm not going to say no. In fact I'll probably give you a hug and a kiss for giving me one *umm hint? LOL*.  There's another bag in the market that's been on the lips of fashionistas. The Philip Lim Pashli Croc- Effect Bag.

Honestly I'm not too sold on this style. Yet. I need more convincing.

I'm trying to figure out if it's because of the crocodile skin- effect leather or if it's the actual style that makes me not like this bag too much just yet. It's a pretty bag, don't get me wrong. But I would have liked this more if the handles were a tad longer, making it also possible for shoulder carry (like the Celine luggage tote).

Do you peeps remember the Luella Bartley Gisele bag, fairly similar in style to this bag with that flap? This bag initially reminded me of it, married with the Celine luggage. How do you feel about this bag? I still think I need a little more convincing, especially since this bag is a bit heavier than the Celine luggage tote too.

Fashion Week Simpsons?

So Couture Week just ended, and in a few weeks it's womenswear Fashion Week once again. This has to be the best homage/ tribute to our favorite people in fashion. In the style of Matt Groening's Simpson family, illustrator Alexsander Palombo created these little 'uns! :)  Can you guess who is who? :)

Love them! My friend Peter says they'd be cool on t-shirts... or on underwear for that matter LOL *where do you think will these images be placed if they were to appear on underwear? :D* .

Have a happy Saturday! I feel rather ill this weekend because of my asthma attacks over the last few days, so I should just take it easy for a bit!

SO Kelly SO Pretty!

Let me be honest. The Hermes SO Kelly never really appealed to me when it first came out back in 2008. But seeing a bi- colored one just made me change my mind. I am particularly loving this bag in the white- blue combination. It is really SO pretty!

I  can imagine carrying this bag for when I take a nice cruise along the Italian coast or hey, the French Riviera on someone's nice, big yacht *LOL ok it's free to dream*

Some people argued that the bag is a tad heavy, but then it's also because the bag packs plenty and well, if your bag's big, the tendency there is to fit your whole house inside it *fess up-- because this happens to me too*.

If you happen to chance upon a bi- colored SO kelly, I think you should seriously consider the bag. As of late, popular Hermes bags like the birkin, kelly, lindy, victoria, and yes, the SO kelly are difficult to get.  So, go for it!
