I've been finding a lot of inspiration lately from the minimal 90s editorials.
There is something so classic + timeless about them.

What I Wore in Paris...
I am not a style blogger (haha so please be kind in judging what I wear haha). I make a lot of fashion mistakes but I own up to them in some way :). Today, I figured I'd share some of the photos my friends took of me during Fashion Week. These are some of them from Paris. There are a bit more from Milan, but perhaps it's best I'll save them for another blog post some other time.
I believe this was taken on the first day of Paris Fashion Week.
Furla glasses, Zara dress and jacket, Hermes Kelly bag |
The yellow Zara dress I wore has to be one of the most popular dresses during Milan Fashion Week as I saw this piece on every other girl. I never wore the dress in Milan, but I did in Paris. I paired it with a Zara fluo orange jacket which also happens to be one of the most popular pieces from the clothing brand. I love color blocking. It's seriously so much fun. I just pray that I don't do it wrong!
It was a Tod's Day, and I really just wanted to be comfortable. Oh and did I mention the weather was getting very warm? And I had brought a suitcase full of thick clothing. Major fail!
COS jumper and pants, Furla glasses, Tod's D bag, Tod's red Ferrari gommino loafers |
Like a lady :D I braided my hair too because it was just too hot and I couldn't stand my hair sticking at the back of my neck *I know, gross haha* ! But hmm now I'm not too sure about the pairing with the booties. What say you?
Max camel dress, Hermes Kelly bag, Furla aviators, Stuart Weitzman booties |
I like this casual look. Also because I love my clutch. It's by Mark Cross. But I was wearing something else earlier in the day. I had to change because I became a walking sweat pit. I attended a show at the Espace Ephemere at the Tuileries and the heat inside the tent was unbearable that I began sweating profusely *along with every other person inside the tent*. My dress was not in this breathable fabric so it began to stain *OMG*. I was glad I didn't sit down or I'd have two little butt cheek imprints on the back of my dress as well *embarrassing*. When everyone rushed out to leave the "oven", I stayed on and then went on to face the huge industrial fan to cool myself and dry my dress. I stood there with burly photographers who were also drenched in their own sweat. We had a great laugh about it, but it was NOT a good sight. I walked out of the hall looking fresh as anything after :) But rushed home to change into what you see in the photo. I could not risk another embarrassing moment like that-- but hah, it had to be told here :) Sorry though, no photos! :)
Ella Moss knit sweater, COS white pants, Accessory Lab bib necklace, Tod's ballerinas, Mark Cross clutch |
This was taken inside one of the shows. I was not channeling Anna Wintour by wearing glasses at the show. Haha I only wore these for the photograph because I had raccoon eyes (hadn't gotten much sleep during Fashion Week). So there :)
Zara knit top, Jo No Fui necklace from LuisaViaRoma, COS pants |
Well that's all there is for now. Hope you are enjoying your Wednesday! I'm super glad we have this mini holiday today since I was able to make some seafood pasta for the kids :) I'm off for a quick bath before I head out and meet a friend for dinner. Enjoy the night, peeps!

MY AFTERNOON AT HARRY WINSTON
ph: Ana Schechter
Last week, I was invited to HARRY WINSTON on 5th Avenue for lunch and to check out their iconic engagement ring collection. The moment I stepped through the door I was in diamond heaven! I was given the opportunity to create my dream engagement ring with Harry Winston designers. My dream design would then be sketched for me to take home. I got to see every diamond cut and setting imaginable. I mean, I just about died slipping these rings on my finger! Seriously, the most sparkling beauties I have ever seen! The design I fell in love with was a classic three-carat, round brilliant diamond solitaire ring ♥
We then headed to Harry Winston's old private office (via his tiny personal elevator!), where we were greeted with a delicious elderflower cocktail- one of the best I've ever had! Over cocktails, I got to watch the beautiful video I exclusively posted for you above, showing the design making process of these engagement rings from beginning to end. Ring making is truly an art!
Over the three course lunch we chatted about the diamonds and got to hear some great stories about Harry Winston's history, their charity involvement, and hear about some amazing celebrity and royal encounters. Before leaving, I was presented with my personalized engagement ring sketch- a perfect souvenir that I will make sure to show my boyfriend every chance I get! ;)
Overall, I truly appreciated the personalized experience and getting to learn more about the history and art behind these creations. I want to send out a huge thank you to the Harry Winston team for one of the dreamiest afternoons I've ever had!
Head on over to HARRY WINSTON to check out all of their engagement rings.
I dare you not to fall in love with one!
Disclosure: This post was sponsored by Elle & Harry Winston. The opinions, as always, are my own.
The Bag Sale Continues
One very good buy during the Net-A-Porter Sale is this Michael Kors Leopard Print Saddle Bag
I'm also loving this Alexander McQueen Faithful Leather Tote in taupe. I love the clean style and design of this bag. It showcases the workmanship
x
This is so on- trend, in keeping with those "baby boomer" style saddle bags that are practically on every fashionable woman's shoulders of late. I like how luxe this is because the leopard prints are made of calf hair (as opposed to cheaper fabric). This is a wonderful bag to own to add that oomph to a solid colored outfit.
Where's the deal/steal? Guess what, this Michael Kors bag is currently being sold for 50% off its original price! Buy this now for just US $165!

There's something so attractive about a beautifully simple taupe bag. It's also a pretty big bag :)
Perhaps I have been so exposed to bright colors in the last few years that I have begun to appreciate more "muted" colors. This Alexander McQueen Tote I fancy is 55% off its original price. I highly recommend it! Available HERE for purchase now-- hurry because I believe there is only 1 piece of this!

Ooh! Speaking of fabric/ canvas bags as second bags, how's this one? I like carrying the all basic tote as a second bag, but I would really love to carry something witty as well.
Anya Hindmarch Inspire Tote
Have you read the book, The Secret? Well I think this bag is supposed to have that same concept of "if you dream it, think it, and wish it, it'll happen." So I guess by carrying this bag and seeing how it aims to "inspire," perhaps it will truly inspire! I think this is a must- get then! Any merchandise that helps us achieve and maintain a positive mindset is always a good investment ;) Oh and did I mention that this bag is currently on SALE at Saks? It's part of their CyberMonday deals!
Before I end this post, I just want to include a pair of shoes. You know how you have this tendency to look back on your primary/ secondary school days especially if you had the fondest memories of them? Well this is a pair of shoes that remind me of those "good ol' days". And the more I stare at them, the more I like them. I think they'd look great with a pair of navy trousers:
Chloe T Strap Ballet Flats
I think I'd like to wear this with those navy trousers and that Anya Hindmarch Inspire Tote above. Major like! The Chloe T Strap Ballet Flats are also on SALE at Saks!

Shopping Alert: Cyber Monday!
The shopping did not end last weekend. Today is Cyber Monday, so let the good times keep rolling! Allow yourself to shop, come on. This is probably the one time out of the year when you can do so without feeling as guilty because you get all these lovely offers and big discounts!
I'm really fond of this Marc by Marc Jacobs Petal to the Metal Natasha Bag
Petal to the Metal! |
It's certainly not a new style, but the Petal to the Metal look has become so identified with the Marc by Marc Jacobs line and when the style comes out in bright colors, you know you've lured me in. I've had the chance to carry this bag and I love the security features of it, and am especially fond of it because it's very functional. The one thing I dislike about bags is having to look for my things in that dark abyss. It's good to compartmentalize your things and this bag helps you do just that. Plus, it's easy to carry too and the price isn't crazy high. BUY this and make this that perfect little Christmas present for yourself :)
Another bag I'd like to have (as a second bag for my work stuff and what-have-yous
Light as a feather! |
Nothing spells horoscope like this M Missoni bag. And the best come on is the price! It's not even going to cost you $50 for this one. Just at US$29 for this bag, and hah, it's still by Missoni, yes? :) My second bags have tended to be heavy so the best way to work a second bag is really to use a light one, preferably in fabric. This is IT. And yes, I'm a Gemini, that's why I love this too. The horoscope bag comes in different colors which correspond to your horoscope. This would be the perfect gift for friends too, find out their horoscopes and buy the bags HERE now! At least your friends will appreciate the fact that you went out of your way to find out their horoscopes and got them gifts "made" for them in a way :)

In Neon I Trust
Waaaa! My Saturday was spent working inside a back office and thank goodness I was able to sneak a little time off to surf for some bags. You see, Christmas is coming and the best time to shop is really now, what with all the online sales happening Stateside.
And woohoo since 'tis the season for festive colors, now's also a good time to tote a neon colored bag. It's more than acceptable!! :)
Michael Kors Gia Satchel in neon pink
It's ostrich- embossed leather, so no bird was harmed in making this bag :)
Natch, I looove the color (pink, and bright too), and the fact that it's very functional with those side pockets makes it an even more desirable bag to own. Sigh. I did wish that Michael Kors added a detachable shoulder strap to this bag. Sure, it's a very structured bag, but it would really do very nicely to have that option of hands- free carry.
And then there's this Michael Kors Gosford Clutch in yummy Kiwi!
So pretty!!! I am slightly reminded of a Celine box bag, perhaps because of the hardware clasp, although the clasp isn't in any way similar to the box bag. But it's sooo pretty no?
The same clutch in hot pink! |
Now this is the opportunity to purchase either bags-- because ShopBop has special discount if you spend a certain amount!
